Ireland’s National celebration of arts and creativity as we age returns for 2024. The theme this year is “Lust for Life” and Tipperary County Council Library Service has a fantastic itinerary of events taking place throughout the county over the course of May. Highlights include a talk by Brent Pope in Littleton. The former rugby player, pundit and mental health advocate will talk about his difficulties with sharing his troubled past and how he battled anxiety and depression.
“The Irish Gardner” Peter Dowdall (a familiar face on RTE and Virgin Media) will be giving a talk and tips in Thurles Library on the 7th of May while playwright and writer Mary Halpin will visit Tipperary Town Library on May 31st and Susie Murphy, author of the hugely popular “A Matter of Class” historical saga, will visit Thurles library on the 15th of May. This is just a flavour of what is on offer throughout our libraries in May. You can also register for events such as Upcycling Cafés, Mobility Workshops, Basketry Tutorials, Wood Carving, Drama Workshops, Line Dancing, Sustainability Coaching, Silk Painting and Wellness Courses.
