‘Ireland’s Own‘ Presented by Margaret Galvin @ Carrick-on-Suir Library
Wednesday, May 8th, 2.00pm – 3.00pm
Margaret Galvin reflects on the evolving nature of Ireland’s Own magazine over the many decades of its history since its inception in 1902. Particular emphasis will be placed on the adverts carried in the magazine and how they relate to the sociology of Ireland at that time.
Regular features such as the pen friends will also be considered along with the more recent features contributed by RTÉ personalities Mary Kennedy, Michael Lyster, Maxi, and Liam Nolan.
